Opening Day of School

We are eager to welcome students on Opening Day!  Students are expected to arrive and report directly to their Advisor's meeting space (on this day and every day) by 8:25 a.m.  Students will be escorted by their Advisor to our Opening Day Assembly in the Auditorium at 8:45 a.m.  Parents are welcome to attend the Opening Day Assembly (Parent parking must always be in the South lot near the Main Entrance).  After the conclusion of the Assembly, we will run a Special Schedule with abbreviated blocks.  This will allow all periods, A through G, to meet.  We will begin our 7-day, rotating schedule on Wednesday, August 13.

Because our Opening Day is a Tuesday, students should arrive in their Dress Day uniform.  Blazers are not required.  Students who are enrolled in PE may bring PE clothes on Opening Day, but are not required to do so.  Please refer to our Uniform Guidelines, found in the PINE Docs (Whole School) Resource Folder on myPINE, for clarification on Middle School uniform guidelines.

Dismissal/After Care/Extended Day Reminders
Due to construction, Middle School students will not be able to participate in Extended Day this year.   As a reminder, students are able to make arrangements to meet with teachers during the Extra Help Period (3:30-4:00 p.m.).  Also, participation in PINE athletics will allow students the opportunity to remain at school after dismissal.

Students who are not attending extra help or heading to sports/practice must be picked up or board the bus promptly at 3:30 p.m.  After dismissal, faculty and staff immediately begin to lead extra help sessions and prepare for the next school day.  This means there is no direct supervision for students who remain at school but do not attend extra help or sports.  For the safety of students, please be sure that your family has a plan for dismissal/departure in place.  We encourage you to contact the School if there are extenuating circumstances that prevent you from having an on-time pick up.
