The Pine School’s Athletic Program, Boy’s Division (Class 1A), has been awarded with First Place in the Sunshine Cup.
The FHSAA Floyd E. Lay Sunshine Cup is an all-sports award that ranks high school athletic programs in Florida based on performance in District-Region-State competitions. Schools earn points for state series finishes, with a state championship worth 20 points and a state runner-up earning 12. Bonuses are given for winning district and regional titles, and points are deducted for unsporting conduct, ensuring a focus on both athletic success and sportsmanship.
“Winning the Program of the Year is a testament to the incredible dedication and hard work of our student-athletes and coaches,” shared Athletic Director Jeff Shirk. “This award is about more than just a single team; it reflects the commitment of our entire athletic department and the unwavering support of the entire Pine School community. We are so proud of our Knights for this outstanding achievement.”
