Longtime PINE Lower School teacher Tara Hughes has fully committed this year to lead our Lower Schoolers confidently into the world of Digital Literacy.
Creativity is at the forefront. Right now, students are exploring coding using Lightbot, mBots, and SCRATCH. These programs reinforce sequencing and the power of perseverance in coding. We are also exploring circuitry by using circuit boards to create fans, flying saucers, and even wonderful alarm sounds! We also have a program to help facilitate the correct learning of typing on keyboards. The students are in the pilot seat - using these tools to further their creativity in class.
“This class is a teacher's dream come true,” explained Hughes. “I have the opportunity to bring so many different concepts into the classroom.”
