AthleticsAthletics has a long-standing tradition of success at The Pine School. As educators, we believe that physical education, developmental and competitive sports, as well as the arts complement academics and character building. We refer to our players as "student-athletes," as academics is the priority at The Pine School. Our student-athletes must demonstrate their success in the classroom above all. From the very beginning, our student-athletes are reminded that they represent The Pine School in everything they do, and therefore, must always conduct themselves with class, dignity, and good character.

Throughout Kindergarten through 8th Grade, all students take part in classes taught by members of the Athletic Department. In the Lower School, a skill development intramural program develops basic skills in lacrosse, basketball, soccer, volleyball, and golf. Interscholastic competition begins in 5th grade. Middle and Upper School students are expected to participate in at least one sport during the year. Because of the "no-cut" policy practiced by The Pine School, all students have the opportunity to compete.

As members of the Mid Coast Athletic Conference and the Florida High School Athletic Association, The Pine School has a fully developed interscholastic program, which include Cross Country, Volleyball, Swimming & Diving, Golf, Soccer, Basketball, Cheerleading, Lacrosse, Tennis, Sailing, Track & Field, and Crew. Our coaches are members of the Florida Athletic Coaches Association (FACA) and receive specialized training in a positive, developmental approach with safety and injury prevention as the utmost priority. Coaches improve upon their craft by attending conferences and clinics periodically throughout the year. Our facilities and equipment are sound and safe, and all coaches follow a very strict concussion protocol as they all are required to complete an annual concussion course should any student-athlete experience a high-impact incident.

From State, Regional and District Titles to various collegiate signings by our athletes to commit to playing sports at the college level, athletics at The Pine School has never been stronger. With their commitment to sportsmanship as well as academics, our student-athletes are well rounded, disciplined role models who agree the lessons learned on the fields, courts, track, and in the water translate to life skills that will benefit them well beyond their years at The Pine School.
