THIRD GRADE USES SKYPE TO STUDY ABOUT AUSTRALIA
Mrs. Ross' Third Grade class is studying a unit on Australia. After reading picture books and discussing animals from the continent, the students were able to visit with an Australian student, Matt, and Mrs. Ross' daughter, Katie, by using the technology in Room 1. Each student had prepared questions to ask both college students in advance. They were excited to be able to see and talk to people halfway around the world (via Skype). They were also amazed that they were getting ready to sleep in Australia as we were just beginning our school day. Plans are being made to continue their questions on another day since they had too many for one class period!
