Music in the Middle and Upper School

Middle and Upper School Music

Students in the Middle School all take music for at least one quarter as a class during seventh grade. Here they explore the basics of choral singing, keyboard instruction, and music theory. In addition, they have the opportunity to be part of the Middle School Band and the Combined Chorus.

Students in the Upper School have several performance ensembles to choose from. They may participate the Upper School Concert Band, the Woodwind ensemble, the Combined Choir, A Capella, or audition for The Pine School Jazz Ensemble or Jazz Combo.

The focus of all of our ensembles is performance. In addition, students are encouraged to study privately and perform at events throughout the school year, enter competitions, and audition for Florida performance groups outside of school.
