Welcome to the The Pine School --- Primary/Intermediate Division!

The all-important years from first through sixth grade make up a large block of development in children. A strong academic curriculum is vital to a student’s success as skills are introduced in the primary grades (one, two, and three) and then reinforced and applied in the intermediate grades (four, five, and six). At The Pine School independence is nurtured and encouraged throughout these formative years of learning. The curriculum is strong and measured against national standards, objectives, and benchmarks.

Grades four through six are departmentalized with a full time science teacher and ability leveled academics in math as well as reading/language arts. A global approach to social studies encompasses current events, geography, the study of ancient history and the history of Martin County, Florida. Enrichment classes in Spanish, art, physical education, computer, library, and music are offered to encourage the development of the whole child. The Lower School offers a wide variety of field trips, programs and presentations, as well as leadership opportunities throughout the school year.

The impressionable years between first and sixth grade require a true commitment from students, teachers, and families to bring out the best in each child. The Pine School’s Lower School is committed to each child as they grow, develop, and strive to be the very best person they can be.
